Smartwatch shipments grow by 42% in Q3 2019, Apple the runaway leader

Smartwatch shipments grow by 42% in Q3 2019, Apple the runaway leader

Smartwatch sales grow rapidly in 2019 as manufacturers are now adding more useful features. According to a report published by Strategy Analytics, there are 14 million shipments in Q3 of 2019. That represents 42% growth if we compare it with last year’s shipments. 

 

When we go in details Apple is the market leader in Smartwatches market share and total shipments. Whereas Samsung is at 2nd spot in the list above Fitbit. Apple shipped 6.8 million smartwatches in Q3 2019 and its market share has been increased from 45%(last year) to 47.9% in 2019. Talking about Samsung, they shipped 1.9 million smartwatches worldwide in Q3 of 2019.

If we talk about the market share of Samsung, it just marginally increased from last year 11% to 13.4% in Q3 2019. On the third spot, Fitbit has shipped 1.6 million shipments worldwide in Q3 2019. Fitbit market share has just decreased marginally from 15% last year to 11.3% in 2019. 

Here it’s important to tell you that Google has recently acquired Fitbit for $2.1 billion. So now Fitbit fortunes might change, Let’s see what are Google’s plan for Fitbit in the future. Although both Samsung and Fitbit will not challenge the supremacy of Apple at the top in the near future.
